Entry for LibGDX Jam March 2023 on the theme: Pixel War

Use tanks and airships to destroy the enemy’s flag, but make sure they don’t destroy your flag. Whoever destroy the other's flag, wins the battle.

Your units will automatically shoot when they spot an enemy. It is up to you to guide your units to strategic positions. Do you post them near critical structures to defend them? Or do you try to sneak past enemy lines? Or take out enemy tank by ganging up on them?

An airship can drop a devastating bomb on enemies, but it can only carry one. It has to return to the reloading tower to get a new bomb.  Tanks will shoot at airships, but are unlikely to hit them. Anti-aircraft guns on the other hand pose a real danger to these slow-moving inflatables.

You play the game from the perspective of the selected unit. You can switch between your units.

The pace quickly gets frenetic as you try to keep track of what’s happening in the battlefield. Can you keep your cool under pressure?

Controls:

- Click on the terrain to direct the selected unit towards a destination.

- Click on another unit or structure to select it.

- Use TAB to cycle between units of the same type.

- Use the on-screen buttons to cycle per unit or structure (TK= Tank, AS = Airship, AA = Anti-Aircraft, TW = Tower, FL = Flag).

- Drag on the screen to move the camera angle for a better view.

- Pinch or use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out

Cool!! An epic 3d entry with great 80s type music!!

Altough it will take some time for me to figure out the controls, the game is really very well designed. I respect so much to 3d games made with libGDX. this is really great work. I will practice more with it.

Nice game

This feels like a super polished project, really great work!

Impressive to have a 3d game for a jam. There are a lot cool things going on, that I would struggle create myself.
Gameplay wise, it's a bit difficult. I wish there was a smooth transition between the units.

Thanks for the tip! The post-jam update (version 1.1 jar file) moves the camera more gently between units. This should hopefully make the switch less desorientating.

I enjoyed it. I'm really not sure what's the end though, but overall good entry!

I've just uploaded a new version with some form of actual game play.

So, how does this work? Can I only select vehicles and let them move or is there more?
